I’ve heard these names, but I didn’t know what they meant. So I asked Siri, but then my mother told me to do better research. So I asked Google. I got many answers, so I decided to write it myself.

El Nino occurs when the temperature of the pacific ocean rises (gets hotter). This should happen very rarely but due to global warming el nino is happening more frequently than it should. El nino effects monsoons all around the world (including India). It affects both the ocean and the atmosphere. El Nino also affects winds and the direction they blow in. It disrupts weather patterns and also affects and meddles with the global climate causing intense storms in some places and a drought in others.

La Nina is the opposite of El nino. It occurs when the temperature of the pacific ocean gets colder. This will result in a drastic change of weather specially in countries around the pacific. It effects local, regional and global climate. The temperature will be ranging from 3 to 5 °C . This, just like El nino effects both the ocean and the atmosphere. Due to many changes in weather patterns (including EL nino and La nina) the global climate is changing.
