Over the last year America there have been many incidenmces of hate crimes in America. Add to this, the historic second impeachment of President Donald Trump, the alleged fraud on the electoral votes, the murder of George Floyd and the capitol riots.

In my opinion, America is slowly creeping to become a nation where some people are divided and ignorant of the laws. It is the worst period in American history according to many citizens living there.

This is not related to the unemployment issues and the highest covid-19 cases in the world but to the killing of nine Asians in Atlanta.

What happened?

Three Asian massage parlours were attacked, in which 8 people died and one person is still in critical condition. This has led to so much pressure on Biden’s old shoulders. We all know that diamonds are made under pressure and this adversity inspired Biden who is Trump’s successor to pass an Anti-Asian hate crime bill.

What is the bill about?

According to the spokesperson related with this issue The Covid Hates Crime Act aims to increase Justice Department oversight of coronavirus-related hate crimes, provide support for state and local law enforcement agencies, and make hate crime information more accessible to Asian American communities. This, in simple words, is that it is trying to promote equality and decrease hate crimes and racial discrimination by stringent laws and providing empowerment to the minorities.

The worst part of the incident

The worst part of the incident was that there was no motive so it was just to kill minorities and the fact that it was targeting only Asians. But that is not all instead of giving stringent comments about this mass shooting, Captain Jay Baker, a spokesman for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, said that Robert Aaron Long, who has been charged with murder, was fed up and that that day was a really bad day for him.
