As we all know because of Corona Pandemic the world has come to stand still.

Everything has been shut down, malls, cinema, restaurants, shops, tourism etc. It has not left even the sports and Olympics.

Olympics which was supposed to be held on July 24, 2020, got postponed due to pandemic struggle. The new dates are decided by Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) together.

The games will open on July 23, 2021, and close on August 8, 2021. The Paralympics will be held on Aug 24, 2021.

There are many other sports which got postponed and some are even cancelled. Some of the sports which are postponed are:

  • The football Association has announced, Euro 2020 will be held in 2021 in next summer.
  • Wimbledon, 29 June – June 12, is cancelled for the first time since World war-2. The International Tennis federation has suspended tournaments until April 20 at the earliest. The French Open tennis is moved to September from the scheduled slot.
  • Indian premier league was supposed to be held on April 16 is suspended until further notice. England vs. west Indies Test series, which is to be held in June, got postponed.
  • Dubai World cup is world’s richest race. Organizers have earlier announced earlier this week that, this event will go on without the spectators on March 28, but later they postponed it to 2021.

There is no doubt the pandemic has affected all our lives including the sports. But like everything has come to an end, even this pandemic will also come to an end and we will get back to our normal lives.
