Albert Einstein is known to be a genius. But did you know his wife Mileva Marić Einstein was a brilliant mathematician herself? It is believed that many of the projects Einstein got credit for were worked on by both Mileva and Albert.

A biography of Mileva Einstein-Maric written by a Serbian science professor named Desanka Trbuhovic-Gjuric, – called, ‘ Im Schatten Albert Einsteins: Das tragische Leben der Mileva Einstein-Maric (In the Shadow of Albert Einstein: The Tragic Life of Mileva Einstein-Maric) – sheds light on Mileva’s contributions to Einstein’s work.

Trbuhovic-Gjuric says in the book that Maric was a brilliant mathematician, more brilliant than Einstein (he says she was better in physics too). He adds that Maric contributed substantially to Einstein’s famous relativity paper of 1905.

Einstein got a Nobel Prize in Physics in 1921.

Contrast this with Marie Curie’s husband, Pierre Curie, who was offered a Nobel prize for his work. But he didn’t accept saying they should give it to his wife because she worked on it mostly. So, she was given the prize. This shows us that we should all respect everyone’s hard work irrespective of their gender.
