Everything is easy to watch, but nothing is easy in this world. Everything needs passion, commitment and trying to succeed in it.   Small things which we struggle and succeed makes a big difference in our life.  “You have to fight to reach your dream.  You have to sacrifice and work hard for it”.  A famous footballer said these words.  He is none other than Lionel Messi.  He proved the words by winning 7 trophies of the Ballon d’or.

Lionel Messi – a quick word

Lionel Messi is an Argentine Football player who plays for Barcelona. He is considered to be one of best players in this world. He started his football career at the age of 13 and is still playing as a legend at the age of 34. He was popularly known as the youngest football player in the 1990s. He has won 35 trophies till now and has added another trophy in the year 2021. He uses a special technique which no other football players can tackle except Ronaldo.  

The Ballon D’or

The Ballon d’or is a trophy which is in a shape of golden ball.  It is a trophy annually awarded to the best ‘FIFA men’ footballers. This award was first established in 1956 by Stanley Mathews. It was first considered as a best European footballer award. It became global in 2007 when all the footballers from the world started to participate in it. It is considered as one of toughest competition in football.

Messi and the Ballon D’Or

Lionel Messi, the 34 year footballer has made a world record. He has won the most trophies of ‘Ballon d’Or’ which is one of the toughest trophy to win. Messi has won the trophy 6 times and has added his seventh trophy to his record in 2021 held in Theatre du Chatelet, Paris.

Although Messi won the Ballon d’Or seven times, it was not easy and there was a struggle behind it.  Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo always have a tough competition as they both used the same technique. Messi always defeated Ronaldo as a great footballer, but here comes the twist.

The years 2013 – 2018 was a terrible match and was a hurdle against his football path. Cristiano Ronaldo won the matches beating Messi. However, Messi won the match of 2015 by his luck, but again started falling down. Everyone started to dislike Messi and started to love Cristiano Ronaldo.

Messi din’t give up, he tried and came back with a shine as bright as sun. He won the 2019 and 2021 Ballon d’Or which made everyone love Messi again Trying has the power to kill the darkness in the world
