Summer vacations…it is the time every student looks forward to. More than a month of freedom, no school! Travelling to new places, learning a new skill, anything and everything during summers is fun.
But not this year is unusual, to say the least. COVID has made sure that we can’t travel. We are basically trapped inside our homes. With no school and no going out, what are some basic things you could do to kill time while having fun?
Spend some time in the kitchen.
Yup, this is a great time for you to learn how to cook. Be it even Maggi or a sandwich, use this time to cook something. You could learn to bake, now that there are millions of amazing videos to learn from!
Read. A lot.
Ok, I know that most of us aren’t fans of books, but believe me, there are books out there which are actually entertaining. Read a comic, or a book like Diary Of A Wimpy Kid or Goosebumps or Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and believe me, you’ll ENJOY them. Books are not just for learning. They are also for fun.
Exercise.
Now, this is one great way to pass time. No, not hardcore exercises like weight-lifting unless you know what you’re doing, but fun exercises like Zumba, a sport and more. On YouTube, there are millions of fun Zumba lessons, which not only get your heart rate up but also ensure that you enjoy.
Reconnect with your older friends.
Many people drift apart from each other due to reasons like shifting school, moving to another place, among others, and so I suggest that you utilise this time to reconnect with them. Be it a long-lost friend, or a distant relative, we all have plenty of time with us. No-one would mind getting a call from you. You both would enjoy, cherishing your memories.
Watch online tours of national parks or museums.
One thing that has become really famous is virtual tours. In this, you go on a virtual 360-degree tour of the national park or museum. This is a great way to do some exploring while remaining at home.
