What’s the series about?
The series covers various unseen and unheard phases of the player’s life. His early teenage years, his debut at the age of 20, his struggling days, and reaching heights as a football player.

He plays as a forward and captain for the Indian national team. Chhetri is the third-highest international goalscorer, in the world, with 84 goals, behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. He is India’s most-capped player and the country’s leading goal-scorer (most-capped refers to the number of international games someone has played)
Chetri also signed for Major League Soccer side the Kansas City Wizards in 2010 and became the third player to go abroad from the subcontinent. Widely regarded as one of the greatest Indian players of all time and one of the best Indian strikers of all time, Chhetri is known for his goal-scoring abilities, link-up play, and leadership.
Awards and Honours
- Sunil Chhetri was instrumental in India winning the 2007, 2009, and 2012 Nehru Cups.
- Chhetri also helped team India win the SAFF Championships in the years 2011, 2015, and 2021.
- Sunil Chhetri has been named AIFF Player of the Year, seven times in 2007, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2018-19, and 2021-22.
- Chhetri was awarded the Arjuna Award (the second-highest sporting honour of India, the highest being the Khel Ratna Award) in 2011 for outstanding sporting achievement followed by the Khel Ratna in 2021.
- The player also received India’s fourth-highest civilian award, the Padma Shri in 2019.
