Thoughts on Quarantine Time

Quarantine started due to the pandemic of Coronavirus, and thus it is a measure taken for the concern of our very own lives so that we don’t get this contagious virus and die and also to prevent its spread.

I am personally glad that this pandemic ever occurred, I like to think of it as a wake up call from mother Earth herself reminding us that we are not the only species living on Earth and that we are destroying the very planet we live on. This might go down in history as a very awful pandemic that occurred on Earth and killed millions, and that is all true, but haven’t we also killed billions ourselves? I think it should go down as mankind’s life saviour.

We are all starting to realise, while sitting at home, that the world of humans had made up so many unwanted products which we thought we couldn’t survive without but now know we can. The polluted air around us is clearing, the birds can be heard chirping. In places where I have heard nothing but traffic, I hear peace and calm, and can see that all is serene. I am glad our country took strict steps immediately, for we can see that every one day is costing a thousand lives to stay in bed. I am glad that our wanting to live outlasts are ache to go outside.

We might have to stay at home, but that brings us closer to our family, makes us do things out of routine, discover more stuff about ourselves and of course, realise time is precious. For those who think time is just flying by, they should be more aware, for we should know every move we make in the day, so that we don’t blame life for boredom.

That is another dilemma, boredom. If we just tried to open our eyes to our surroundings, use our imagination in a creative way, boredom won’t exist anymore. It seems to me that all people want to do is scroll up and down on their social media sites and complain of boredom. Apparently everyone thinks sitting and waiting for entertainment while tearing your eyes out watching the screen is a good way to while away the time.

Well, everyone has their own outlook and I have mine, but sitting around and waiting for time itself to serve you sounds like a good way of wasting a precious year of a new outlook on life and while away a year of life. I hope the quarantine will change us all for the better and lead the way to a convalescent and healthier life.
