The Miss Universe Contest is an International beauty pageant organised by a United States-based organization named Miss Universe Organization.

Founded in the year 1952, this is an annual event that takes place every year. It was cancelled in the year 2020 due to the ongoing pandemic of COVID-19. It is one of the Big Four International Beauty Pageants. The other three are Miss World, Miss International, and Miss Earth

The contest this year

This year the contest was held in Florida, United States, on the 16^th of May. There were 74 contestants who participated in this event. It was hosted by Mario Lopez and Olivia Culpo. Mario is an American actor and Olivia is an American fashion influencer.

This year the title was won by Andrea Meza from Mexico. She is 26 years old and is a Software Engineer by profession. The first runner-up was Julia Gama from Brazil and the second runner-up was Janick Maceta from Peru.

Miss Myanmar Thuzar Wint Lwin won the award for the best national costume. She displayed a scroll that read, ‘Pray for Myanmar’.
