On March 27, India conducted Mission Shakti, an anti-satellite missile test, from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island launch complex.

Prime Minster Narendra Modi addressed the nation telling them that India had launched something that was basically an anti-satellite. This satellite comes in use when another satellite is trying to knock down our satellite. In that case of emergency, the anti-satellite will knock down the satellite which is trying to knock down our satellite.

A demonstration was done, in which our satellite was knocked down by the anti-satellite to prove that it works. For countries, a satellite is very important because all the Wi-Fi and data of digital devices is stored in the satellite, and if it is knocked off, all digital devices will stop working.

By doing this, India has joined an elite space club of four countries which are-India, Russia, China and the united states.
