If you’re at home and can’t go anywhere because of Coronavirus – read this book!

The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell takes the readers on a thrilling quest filled with magic spells, laugh-out-loud humor, and breath taking adventure.

The book mesmerizes the readers and make them feel as one of the character in the story. The reader then wanders along with the characters as the story progresses and becomes a part of the whole adventure
Written by American born actor, singer and author Chris Colfer, this is the first novel in the series of 6 novels written by him.

The story is about twins Alex and Conner who are gifted a treasured fairy-tale book by their grandmother on their 12th birthday after the loss of their father. This book is no ordinary book. It starts to glow every night and on one of the fateful nights while Alex was reading the book, she was magically pulled inside the book. To save his sister, Conner too jumps inside the book. Once inside, the siblings come face-to-face with all classic fairy tale characters which they have only read in books so far.

They find out that in order to go home, they must collect items of the Wishing Spell from each kingdom. On their way, they meet the characters like Red Riding Hood, Queen Cinderella, Goldilocks. However, time is running out and they know that the Evil Queen is also on the same quest and the Spell can only be made once again.

The twins know they must get back home somehow. But with the legendary Evil Queen also on their trail, will they ever find the way? This is one of the best books I have read so far. The language is simple and very descriptive.

I would rate this book for age 10 and above
My rating – 5 stars!
