Mitra COVID Robot, developed by a Bangalore-based tech company, will help COVID  19 patients to connect with their loved ones.

As we have seen, Covid-19 patients have started facing mental health issues because of being quarantined in hospitals. They are not able to communicate with their family members, which is a source of depression and anxiety in the patients. A Bangalore-based Tech company, Invento Robotics, has addressed this issue and developed a robot to fill this communication gap.

The robot, called Mitra,  enables COVID patients to communicate through a touch-screen placed in the chest of the robot. Apart from communication this also helps doctors to check patient’s health from remote. Five feet tall, the robot is made of fiberglass and is equipped with a touchscreen. It lasts for about 8-10 hours after charging. In terms of movement, it can move its shoulder, elbow, and fingers.

The robot is a great idea because it reduces the risk of infection of the virus to the doctors and nurses. New Delhi, Gujarat, and Tamil Nadu have already started using this technology. One such robot costs $13600 or around ₹ 1 million.

Here’s how it works:

The technology is getting advanced day by day and is making our lives easier and simple.

Fun Fact:

92% of the world’s currency is digital. This means that most of the money that we earn, use to buy goods/services, etc. , exists only digitally (on the computer, that is). Only 8% of the current global money is physically available.
