Flying high…

In the sky
Faster than an aeroplane,
Flying high,
Who is this ?
Who could it be ?
Worlds fastest rocket,
Could it be ?
If its her,
Will she come here ?
I said watching with glee
Seeing a rocket in the movie .
“Wonderful moments ” my friend said to me ,
Flying in space with no gravity
I want to meet her ,
I want to fly ,
Discovering new galaxies ,
In the sky !
Who was Kalpala Chawla?
Kalpana Chawla was an American astronaut and engineer and the first woman of India origin to go to space. She first flew on Space Shuttle Columbia in 1997. She was one of the seven crew members who died when the Space Shuttle Columbia crashed during its re-entry into the Earth’s atmosphere on February 1st 2003.
She was born in Punjab and she did her Bachelors of Aeronautical Engineering from Punjab Engineering College in Chandigarh. She left India for the US in 1982 to do a double masters and PhD in aerospace engineering.
