She’s 18 and she’s made history. Singer Billie Eilish has won four Grammy Awards – record, song and album of the year, and best new artist  – making her the youngest to win a Grammy and also the first to win all four (after it was won in 1981 by a singer called Christopher Cross). This is a big, big deal.

Sorry for asking, but what’s a Grammy Award?

Ok, so no question is stupid – if you don’t know what Grammy is – here’s a quick line about it.

A Grammy Award is the biggest award given for music to musicians from around the world. It is given every year by an American company called the Recording Academy which is made up of musicians, producers, recording engineers, and other musical professionals.

So who is Billie Eilish?

Billie Eilish is a famous American singer, songwriter, and musician. She became famous in 2010 when she recorded a song called ‘Ocean Eyes’ and uploaded it herself and it became a hit. She works with her brother, Finneas O’Connell, who is also a songwriter, record producer, singer, musician, and actor. He has written and produced some of Billie’s music.

Billie’s first album is called ‘When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’, which is about depression and climate change. Before Billie it was Taylor Swift who was the youngest person to win Album of the Year – now Billie has beaten her record.

One of her most famous songs is called, ‘Bad Guy’ – it was a No.1 hit and generated 1.3 billion on-demand streams in the U.S. last year – which means that that was the number of times people clicked to listen to the song!

I need to say here that if you are younger than 14, don’t watch the video – it is scary (I found it scary and I am older). You should make sure that you know what you are watching if you watch her songs.
