The PM cares fund is a fund (which means a sum of money set aside for a particular purpose) that has been created by our Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi for combating the coronavirus outbreak, and also similar pandemics- like situations, like the SARS and MERS coronavirus. This fund, created on 28 March 2020, is also known as the Prime Minister Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund.
Within a week of setting up, this fund was given 6500 crores in a donation by various organizations, government officials, celebrities, and ordinary individuals. Some of these include Akshay Kumar, Kotak Mahindra bank, Sajjan Jindal, the Aditya Birla Group, and Reliance Industries. The money from the fund is being used to provide essentials to the needy. From running 430 flights are running to provide services, to providing free food to approximately 5 crore people producing 1.86 lakh PPE (personal protection equipment), to sending relief material to over a 100 countries, the fund is helping millions of people in these difficult times.
The Prime Minister is working very hard, so we should not only help him, we should give him the support he needs to achieve his goals.
