Who Destroyed Her Home?
Poem composed by Kamakshi Anand.
Poem composed by Kamakshi Anand.
Trampled
Plucked
Forgotten,
She saw not the pain
But the beauty she could make of it
Picked up the green,
Carried it a great distance
And delivered it on an arm
Fluttered back
Found another, a bit like the sun
Carried it a great distance
To the extended arm.
Night and day
She weaved
And weaved,
Built a home that could stand a storm.
She spent days
Perfected her art,
Made a home
Of broken grass.
Days flew along with her,
The night sung in her glory,
The moon shone upon her wings
Till the sun took charge.
One day,
A piece fell,
The green faded to a brown,
Weak
Yet it did not let her fall.
She knew it would
Eventually
Or so she thought
And
Day after day
Night after night,
Perched upon a branch
She un-wove her home
Only to make a new one.
