The story
The Diary of a 6th Grade Ninja, written by Marcus Emerson tells the story of Chase Cooper, a young boy of eleven who joins his cousin Zoe’s school. Here, in the span of approximately six days, he joins a secret ninja society formed by the students. A lot happens in this time – he steals a bag from a girl, is forced to destroy his cousin’s reputation and permanent record, gets beaten up by the leader of the ninja society because he didn’t complete a task and becomes the most popular boy in school because instead of standing up against a bully (the leader of the ninja society ), he lets the bully beat him up because he knows that whatever he did, the bully would still win. Who knew school would be so fun?
My Opinions
Everything in this part of the article is my own personal opinion. Please remember that your point of view could be different from mine. I found The Diary of a 6th Grade Ninja to be a nice book for anyone wanting a small and entertaining read. With easy to understand literature, a wild adventure, a whole lot of action and mystery, the book is suitable for children from the age of seven to the age of thirteen. Now I know the sound of a secret ninja society in middle school sounds a little crazy, but an average child’s imagination like mine and yours,I would take it as a wild adventure.
What fascinates me most about the book is that you know it is written as a diary, but it somewhat feels like the grown-up Chase is telling you about events that happened to him and how he regrets a lot of his misdeeds. All-in-all it’s an amazing book with a great plot, which has been fantastically conveyed by the author.
Now, with the outbreak of Coronavirus, us children’s sources of entertainment are depleting, our imaginations will only survive through books so, if you want your imaginations to have a wild adventure, I suggest reading this book. But for now, this is the end.
