Why the sudden popularity?

Running up the hill has been used in the very popular Netflix show “Stranger Things”. It can be heard extensively in the sci-fi drama. Stranger Things, being one of the most-watched series on Netflix, is the reason for the sudden spike in popularity of the song after 37 years of being launched.
