What do countries with low rates of active Coronavirus cases, early recovery and low death rate have in common?
It is that these countries have female leaders.
A Harvard Business Review research states that women have greater leadership skills and a broader perspective than men. Taiwan, for instance, under the president ship of Tsai Ing-Wen has reported only 7 deaths as of now without forgetting the fact that it lies next to China, the country where the outbreak of the virus began. Tsai introduced 124 measures in January, when it reported its first few cases, and it is the reason why Taiwan is not under lock down. This is one of the `Greatest Responses`, as CNN states.
The Prime Minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern, has strictly told people coming into New Zealand to self-isolate for 14 days. While some countries were easing lockdown restrictions, New Zealand was adding more and more restrictions, which is why it is currently Corona virus free.
Katrin Jakobsdottir, the Prime Minister of Iceland, has developed rapid testing kit and testing kits free for its citizens as most of the cases were turning out to be asymptomatic(not showing symptoms of the disease). Iceland has reported less than 2,000 cases.
The Danish Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen, had closed national borders as early as 13 March and had shut schools and Universities. Furthermore, she had also banned gatherings of more than 10 people across the country. Currently, Denmark has less than 11,000 cases
Finland has also done a remarkable job under the leadership of Sanna Marin reporting less than 6,500 cases.
It is not that male leaders are inferior or careless or faulty. I feel that female leaders are showing finer skills than male leaders.
Does this seem like a coincidence or can it be used as evidence to suggest that women are showing greater results in these times of Corona virus?
The answer, is clear.
