About the book

This is a story about a small boy who lived in Africa. It’s a touching story about this boy and a lion. The boy brings a lonely white lion cub to stay with him and he gets very attached to the lion.

Then the boy grows up and goes to England for his studies. This is when his father sells the lion to the circus. Heartbroken, the boy, called Bertie, dreams of meeting the lion one day.

I don’t want to give you any more spoilers, so to know, why the lion is called the butterfly lion and if Bertie meets him again, do read the book.

What is the most interesting part of the book?

The ending of the book is very interesting, with a lot of suspense and twist. The bonding between Bertie and the white lion is touching. The experience of life in Africa with animals is very unique and special. The story touches upon the empathy between animals and humans. Also, it teaches us that sometimes we need to let go of the attachment we have with our loved ones for their betterment.

Who would this book be suitable for?

It is mostly suited for children above the age of 10 and who are animal lovers.

About the book

It is a story of a small child and his father.

It’s about an extraordinary story that the father narrates after he returns from buying some milk for his son and daughter – which is about. It involves a stegosaurus (a dinosaur that lived 150 million years ago) in a hot air balloon, aliens who have ideas about redecorating earth, a volcano God and oh also some pirates.

The main characters in this book are the father, his children, and Professor Steg. 

What is the most interesting part of the book?

This book is irresistible and hilarious for fantasy lovers. The variety of fantastical characters take us to a different world – it’s all about the extraordinary experience. It’s like you’re wading through fantasy land! The reader is taken through time and different eras. It is very entertaining and has a lot of interesting illustrations. A must-read!

Who would this book be suitable for?

It is mostly suited for children above the age of 8 and below 13 and who love fantasy. It is a quick read and can be finished in a stretch of a few hours.
