The Guinness World Records is a book published annually in different languages around the world that lists world records of human achievements. Some of the records made by people are so bizarre that it’s sometimes impossible to believe that are even real.  

Let’s take a look at the top 6 crazy Guinness World Records.

1. Record for the longest eyelashes on a woman.

You Jianxia, a woman living in China broke her record for the longest eyelashes in the world. At that time, it was calculated to be 12.4 cm long. in 2021 she broke the record with the longest eyelash measuring 20.5 cm! “I first realized that my eyelashes were growing in 2015.

They continue to grow slowly, becoming longer and longer,” she explained. “I kept thinking about why I have such long eyelashes, then I remembered that I had spent over 480 days in the mountain, years ago. So, I told myself that my eyelashes must be a gift given by the Buddha.”

The real reason for this unusual growth of eyelashes is still a mystery.

2. Longest breath held under water.

A normal human being can hold their breath under water for 30–90 seconds. But Budimir Šobat, a 56-year-old man from Croatia broke the record for holding his breath under water for 24 minutes 37.36 seconds!

Budmir Šobat said he attempted this record in Sisak, Croatia to promote his city after being hit by an earthquake in 2020. “This record did not come by accident. I put all my effort into it. I was preparing myself for this record for more than 3 years. I have trained 6 days a week.” He said.

3. Man drank 2 liters of soda in 18 seconds

A man named Eric Badlands Booker from New York broke the record for drinking 2 liters of soda in 18 seconds!

He attempted the record because it was always his dream to be a Guinness World Records title holder.

4. Longest fingernails in the world.

Lee Redmond from America took nearly 30 years to grow her nails. She started growing her nails in 1979 and set the record in 2008. Her nails are 28 feet and 4 inches long in total if you add up the length of all the fingernails.

It’s hard to imagine how someone could get on with their daily life with 28-ft claws hanging from their hands but Lee was able to do all her daily chores such as cooking, driving, and using a mobile phone. 

5. World record for the longest mustache. 

Ram Singh Chauhan from Jaipur, India has the longest mustache at 14 feet. This 58-year-old man didn’t cut his mustache for over 30 years!

He spends two hours a day grooming his ‘most prized possession’.

6. Stretchiest skin on the Earth.

Garry Turner officially holds the record for the stretchiest skin. He broke this record on 29 October 1999. Garry can stretch his skin to 15 centimeters! This is due to a rare medical condition called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a disorder of the connective tissues affecting the skin, ligaments, and internal organs.
