The Beach – A Poem

Composed by Ishika Kawatra, a grade 10 student.

I was walking by the beach
Feeling the warmth of the soft sand
And the warmth of the sunshine
The water glimmering with its rays

Composed by Ishika Kawatra, a grade 10 student

I was walking by the beach
Feeling the warmth of the soft sand
And the warmth of the sunshine
The water glimmering with its rays
As if clad in glitter
And like diamonds shimmer on jewellery
The gush gush sound of the waves
Makes the whole world fade away
And casts a soothing spell on me
Taken aback by the tranquility
And the ambience of the beach
I acknowledge the blessings offered by life
And feel a sense of gratitude
And then the sun began to set
And went behind the horizon
Just like a little boy
Hides behind his mother’s skirts
So as not to face the darkness of the world
