India my nation,
I have a lot of adoration.
And a lot of pride,
My nation is really very big and wide.

I love India for her diversity,
Different religions and unity.
I love it for all its traditions,
Old fashioned yet modern – a truly special nation.

India has a lot of languages like Hindi,
Urdu, Tamil, Marathi, Punjabi and Bengali.
Though English binds most of us as one,
Hindi is my mother tongue.

We have different festivals like Holi,
Dusshera, Eid, Rakhi and Diwali.
We are the single largest democracy,
With years and years of history.

We have a lot of cultural heritage,
Brave soldiers with a lot of courage.
Air force, army and navy,
Protect us from our enemy.

Snow-capped mountains, lakes and back waters,
Deserts, beaches, forests, jungles, and rivers.
It has a diverse and breathtaking geography,
North to South is a very different topography.

We are a country which is cricket crazy
Though many new sports are now making an entry.
India is the land of the Buddha,
Ramayana, Mahabharata and the Bhagwat Gita.

India is a powerful nation,
Way beyond our imagination.
We believe in unity in diversity,
We are the largest democracy.
